Background Information on Vetiver Oil
Vetiver is a type of grass, in which its roots are collected to make the pure essential oil. Vetiver is not your typical grass. It usually grows to be about 4-8 feet high, before it is collected to make the oils. The grass has leaves, and even small flowers. Vetiver originates from Indonesia, Philippines, and the Comoro Islands. The grass has a history of being sewn into clothes and blankets in Russia to protect furs against the elements. In Ayurvedic times the root was used to cure bad breath. We now mainly use Vetiver to scent perfumes.
