DIY Calming Lotion Bars with Essential Oils

DIY calming lotion bars with essential oils help you take the time you need to destress and relax. Stress can have a detrimental impact on your health, and it’s good to keep it in check.

These DIY calming lotion bars help you to do just that, while making your skin super soft to the touch!* Before we divulge all the details on how to make them, here’s some of the properties of the essential oils we chose for these fabulous bars:

Roman Chamomile: Relaxes nerves; reduces stress; diminishes PMS; and curtails aches and pains.* Also a great antidote for skin impurities, such as rashes, eczema, and inflammation.*

French Lavender: Relaxing, calming, and balances energy.* The scent soothes the mind and helps with stress and anxiety.* Lavender essential oil is largely known for its insomnia-relieving properties, but it also combats inflammation, physical wounds, headaches, and aches and pains.*

DIY Calming Lotion Bars with Essential Oils

Ingredients
¼ cup grated beeswax (or beeswax pastilles)
1 cup coconut oil
4 teaspoons  jojoba oil (or other liquid oil)
10 drops lavender essential oil
8 drops chamomile essential oil
A small handful of dried lavender
Molds or a baking pan

Directions

  1. In a double boiler, melt the beeswax, coconut oil, and jojoba oil together and stir to blend. Once melted, stir in the lavender and chamomile essential oils, and the handful of dried lavender.
  2. Pour the mixture into molds or a lined baking pan. Let cool overnight, and then pop out the molds or cut into bars.
  3. To use, hold the bar in your hand to soften it up a bit, then glide over skin. Rub it in as you go or after use.
  4. Enjoy!
